Landscape Lighting Design
Serving as the vibrant open-air square and retail hub for a massive residential development in Istanbul, Basaksehir Square is designed to be a welcoming social destination.
High-contrast lighting is used along the walkways to add depth while beautifully maintaining the cohesive feel of the space. By keeping the fixtures hidden, harsh glare is eliminated, ensuring a comfortable and inviting path for everyone.
Acting as inviting visual pauses within the extensive hardscape, these small green pockets beautifully enrich the overall composition of the space. Furthermore, when illuminating the greenery, the specific plant species is carefully considered as a key factor in selecting the perfect lighting fixtures to highlight its unique texture.
Driven by the delicate meeting of darkness and vibrant greenery, this lighting concept is dynamically adapted to highlight the unique characteristics of different plant compositions. Successfully translated from sketch to reality, the illuminated landscape is transformed into a warm, inviting environment that is beautifully integrated with the human experience.
Lighting columns are used throughout the carefully designed landscape to gently illuminate walkways and plant compositions without any harsh glare. This thoughtful approach effortlessly brings the space to life, creating an eye-catching and deeply welcoming ambiance that makes residents feel truly at home.
